Coleman is a native of Blackpool Lancashire. Coleman attended Arnold School in Blackpool where she was head of the school and gained straight As in her A-levels. Coleman regrets not having get a normal university education when discussing her experience at Emmerdale. Coleman, while still at high school, was a member of the theatre company In Yer Space. They presented the show Crystal Clear for the Edinburgh Festival. She won an award for her performance, and the play was also highly praised. Coleman got the Emmerdale character Jasmine Thomas after auditioning with the drama school. Coleman received two awards in 2007. Coleman was nominated twice in 2007 for Best Newcomer in the British Soap Awards; and the most Popular Newcomer at the National Television Awards. In the British Soap Awards of 2009 she received nominations in the categories Best Actress and Sexiest female in addition to the Best acting in a Drama. Coleman is nominated as Best Actress by the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat, the producer of Doctor Who confirmed in a 21st March press conference on the show that Coleman will portray Matt Smith's partner following the departure of Karen Gillan left. Moffat decided to put her in the role since she seemed to have the strongest chemistry with Smith. Also, she spoke faster than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She has been active in the film industry since 1987. Her work has been much more prominent on TV than in films. Eva is best known for her work in the role of the character Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children as well as detective Natalia Boa Vistas on CSI Miami. The former even earned her two 'Daytime Emmy' nominations and gave her a chance to experiment with her talents in music. Eva as well as being an actress is also an entrepreneur, philanthropist and business owner. Eva has three husbands, and a child from the second.
